English Literacy Week
As part of our celebration of the English language, English Literacy Week unfolded across all grade levels, offering a rich and engaging learning journey designed to deepen students’ love for language and its power as a tool for expression and creativity.
The week began with an interactive literature exhibition, where students explored the beauty of stories, poetry, and literary arts. During Mystery Reader sessions, they listened actively to stories and enjoyed guessing the voices of their teachers, enhancing their listening and comprehension skills. On Character’s Day, students stepped into the shoes of their favorite characters, connecting their traits to their own ideas and bringing stories to life in imaginative ways.
A Reflection wall captured students’ thoughts and insights, showcasing their learning and personal growth. Through these carefully designed activities, every student was encouraged to become a confident communicator, a creative thinker, and a proud user of English, able to express themselves fluently and thoughtfully.
In the MYP school, students explored a range of poems through group projects, including symbolism boards, mood boards, author studies, and thematic displays.
The celebration concluded on Thursday, 27th November, where parents were welcomed to enjoy student poetry recitals in the auditorium, followed by an exhibition of the students’ creative display boards in the Main Hall. Students also participated by dressing up as their favourite characters from world literature, adding a vibrant and engaging atmosphere to the event.
