STEAM Approach
Arab International Academy adopts the STEAM approach (science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics) to enable students to integrate and apply scientific and mathematical knowledge in finding technological solutions to real-world problems through engineering and design methods. This approach is consistent with the belief that students should be at the center of the teaching and learning process and that learning occurs best when students are engaged in the implementation of meaningful activities.
With STEAM, students engage in projects and practical activities that help them develop inquiry skills and connect scientific knowledge to real-world applications. Students are also introduced to engineering by using scientific methods to develop technological solutions. The use of this approach in education is not limited to learning science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, but also extends to the arts. The arts have a significant impact on the development of students' imagination and their ability to be creative and think unconventionally. Educators agree that these skills are essential in navigating real-life situations.
