Learning Support Services
At AIA, we have implemented several safeguards to ensure that all students have the best opportunity to succeed. First, we emphasize differentiated approaches to teaching, ensuring that we provide multiple methods to meet your child’s needs. Furthermore, we have co-teachers in grades one to five to work collaboratively with the homeroom teachers to facilitate differentiation. We have also considered your child’s individual linguistic needs and have provided English and Arabic as a second language. We have also included a highly qualified staff of counselors who support your child’s emotional needs. This program is staffed by specialized educators, speech-language therapists, and a behavior therapist who are dedicated to helping your child succeed and assisting teachers in making appropriate accommodations where warranted. The learning support team works closely with students, parents, teachers, and all stakeholders to develop individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to meet the unique needs of each student they serve. Their services are mostly provided in the classroom to help include those students, and in some cases, pull-out sessions are used. All this collaboration and support have been aimed at giving students increased self-esteem and the best opportunity to be successful in their school and academic careers.
