STEAM Approach
Arab International Academy adopts the STEAM approach (science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics) to enable students to integrate and apply scientific and mathematical knowledge in finding technological solutions to real-world problems through engineering and design methods. This approach is consistent with the belief that students should be at the center of the teaching and learning process and that learning occurs best when students are engaged in the implementation of meaningful activities. With STEAM, students conduct projects and practical activities that help them develop inquiry skills and link scientific knowledge to real-world applications. Students are also introduced to engineering by using scientific methods to develop technological solutions. The use of this approach in education is not only limited to learning science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, but also expands to the arts. The arts have a significant impact on the development of students' imagination and their ability to be creative and think unconventionally. Educators agree that these skills are essential in navigating real-life situations.
At the KG level, we strive to introduce our students to the basic elements of STEAM by engaging them in projects that involve all elements of STEAM.
