First student-led Arabic language conference

On Thursday, December 22, the students from the Arabic track in Arab International Academy put on the first student-led Arabic language conference. Student representatives from each grade participated by presenting research papers on the realistic situation of the Arabic language, its prominence and on the importance of preserving this language. They accomplished this by using results from interviews done in and out of school, personal experiences and research. The delegates’ goal was to raise awareness on the significance of maintaining a strong connection with our native language and knowing that it is an integral part of our mindfulness of our cultural identity. At the end of the conference, the floor was open to questions from the audience, which consisted of parents, teachers and students form the Arabic and English track, thus leading to a rich and positive discussion that reflected our strong connection to the Arabic language.
