Overview

Arab International Academy adopts and implements high-quality international academic programs that align with its mission and vision. As one of the leading private schools in Qatar, Arab International Academy is working toward the authorization of the three IB programmes: the PYP for pre-school-grade 5, the MYP for grades 6-10 and the DP for grades 11 and 12. In addition, Arab International Academy developed the standards for all its subjects based on the standards of IB schools in Qatar, the Common Core State Standards (CCSS) and the American Education Reaches Out (AERO). All students at AIA will take part in the IB programme up to grade 10. In grade 11, students will choose between joining the IB Diploma Program or a school-based program that leads to a high school diploma. The Ministry of Education and Higher Education in Qatar recognizes the IB Diploma. We are currently working on receiving the approval of the Ministry to recognize the School Diploma.

The goal of the IB Programs is to develop the whole person cognitively, socially, emotionally and physically. The IB schools in Qatar also strive to help students develop the ability to face challenges with an open mind and to cultivate an awareness of their identity and culture with an understanding and acceptance of other cultures. The IB programme, as stated in its philosophy, allows students to become knowledgeable, thinkers, inquirers, and good communicators who are principled, open-minded, caring, and courageous.
