Middle School/IB MYP

The Middle School (MYP) at AIA hosts students of ages 12 – 16 (grade 6-10). It is a five-year programme where students are encouraged to practically overcome daily obstacles. Arab International Academy is a MYP candidate* school. AIA is pursuing authorization as an IB World School. IB World Schools share a common philosophy: a commitment to high-quality, challenging, and international education- that we believe is important for our students. Enrolling in an IB school significantly improves the critical academic skills of the student as well as encourages them to stay motivated and ambitious throughout their educational journey. As an IB school candidate, AIA provides all the material, staffing and facilities necessary to ensure a rich and exhaustive education throughout the MYP school programme.

The MYP school builds on the PYP and is followed by the IB Diploma programme. After completing AIA’s middle school in Doha, students are well-prepared to tackle the next level. Throughout the MYP school programme, students build confidence and develop solid understanding of global challenges. The programme is taught in a way to accommodate each student’s educational needs and nurture their potential. They become experts at learning and develop intercultural awareness that makes them well familiar with the history and ethics underlying each culture. Moreover, the presence of AIA’s middle school in Doha allows students to be constantly exposed to an innovative and international environment, yet keen on preserving their own culture, language and identity.

*Only schools authorized by the IB Organization can offer any of its three academic programmes: the Primary Years Programme (PYP), the Middle Years Programme (MYP), or the Diploma Programme (and in addition the IB Career-related Certificate). Candidate status gives no guarantee that authorization will be granted. For further information about the IB and its programmes, visit http://www.ibo.org
